TBI Bandung E-club Paintball
On 15 November 2009, E-club Bandung had an outing to Cikole Lembang. The event started at 9.00am and finished with a very nice lunch at 2.00pm, with a few outdoor activities in between.
When we arrived at Cikole, the teachers and students were given a rare opportunity to play paintball with or against each other – finally a chance to settle some old scores! The paintball started with the instructors giving everybody camouflage outfits and instructions on how to use the paintball guns. The participants were divided into two teams – teachers mixed with students – and then the paintball war began!
The E-clubbers were thinking, "it’s payback time!" They had an opportunity to teach the teachers a lesson, while the teachers had an opportunity to show the E-clubbers who was in charge. It was a very entertaining (and bruising) encounter with the yellow team beating the black team two games to zero.
We all had a great time shooting at one another, and laughing at the casualties of war. Some of the highlights were a teacher being shot in the back and in the neck and new e-club member Lada from the Czech Republic shooting the school manager in the back of the head – a good introduction to the TBI E-club for Lada!
Following the paintball wars, we continued the outbound activities by displaying courage in crossing a rope bridge and “flying” down the flying fox. At first we were reluctant but with our friends cheering us on we overcame our fears and took the plunge.
It was a great outing for everyone involved and a real chance for the teachers and students to get to know each other on a social level and strengthen relationships.
