Welcome to TBI Jawa

TBI Jawa was established in 1984 and is The British Institute’s very first school. TBI Jawa is located in a historical Dutch building on Jalan Jawa and currently caters to over 1300 students. The school is primarily a centre for young learners and young adults and core programmes include young learner and teenage classes as well as Global English.

TBI Jawa is also a teacher training centre and regularly runs 30 hour teacher training programmes such as the General Introduction to Teaching English (GITE), the Introduction to Teaching English to Children (ITEC) and the Introduction to Teaching English to Pre-Schoolers (ITEP).  One day Teacher Development Workshops (TDW) are also offered on a regular basis.

TBI Jawa provides students with a friendly and supportive study environment, with teachers who are trained to expertly deliver the school’s various course types. TBI Jawa’s customer service staff are on hand to advise parents and students in all administrative and academic matters and to help them to decide upon the best study options.
